How to Have Painless Photos for the Whole Family

today, I'm excited to partner up with Amberly from A Prioritized Marriage to share my best tips for painless photos for the whole family! Being a photographer, photos speak to me. I love having them in my home and our family photo shoots every year are so important to me. While I don't have kids yet, I've got a little puppy that is often cranky around new people and a husband that hates photos just as much as the next guy. So I feel your pain when it comes to scheduling that family photo shoot.

IVF Mini Photo Sessions | Round 2

After completing the first set of Mini Sessions, I felt so strongly that Mini Family Sessions were something I wanted to offer in my business again. In 2018, I wasn’t able to do both Blogger Photography and Family Photography because I had a full-time job and there simply wasn’t enough time in the day for me to do everything. But since going full-time with photography, I’m excited to announce that Mini Sessions for Families will now be offered! They will be done on very specific dates but I am so excited to be able to take pictures for your families again. I absolutely love my job. Stay tuned for exact dates, but get excited because the following Mini Sessions are already in the works!

emili egan | utah blogger photographer

a few weeks ago, emili reached out to me asking if we could shoot together & i am so glad she did! we went to petersen family farms (which now doesn't allow people to take pictures there... :( i've got a whole sadie's soapbox comin for you on that one!!), which is THE CUTEST little christmas tree farm! i'm so glad we were able to go there before they stopped allowing people to take pictures there because it is seriously the cutest little place i've ever seen! plus when you add the egan family as subjects, petersen family farms was the perfect backdrop!

wednesday letter. going full-time + Little Loves

so as most of you know, parker & i moved to salt lake. we are so, so, so grateful to be here & for this opportunity to live with my sweet grandmother. we care about her & her privacy so our adventures with her & experiences with her will not be shared on my blog or social media.

parker works for boostability & is loving it. it's been a great job change & the company treats their employees so well. we are so grateful. he's been working really hard & comes home happy every day so i am so glad that he has found a job that he loves. we're really lucky.

i currently work for bell photographers as a school photographer. we're at different locations every day, so it keeps things interesting, but it's a blast & i love the people that i work with. it's really busy & a little stressful at times, but it's a great job.

i've also been working on sadie banks photography like a mad woman. i haven't told many people this, but my goal for 2018 is to go full-time. i'm medium terrified, but mostly i am really excited for this & have seriously been working SO hard to be able to fill my schedule with sessions. i can't wait to be able to pursue my passion full-time! i'm trying to work with more bloggers & brands, so if you know any brands, companies &/or bloggers who are looking for a photographer, let me know!!! OR if you know anyone getting married in 2018 who needs a photographer, LET ME KNOW!! i can't wait for my 2018 brides, brands, bloggers & seniors! photography is my favorite thing because i get to work with the most incredible people, hear their stories & capture their memories. it really is the best thing in the world.

mackie is loving the salt lake life. he gets to go on walks a lot more & there are so many things for him to sniff. he loves being able to play in a backyard.

the last little announcement from our tiny family is that we are opening a clothing shop! we will be selling baby + kids clothes and could not be more excited! (2018 is going to be AWESOME for working from home!!!!) we are so excited about Little Loves because of how it can help families in similar situations as ours. Little Loves is so near & dear to my heart because i feel like it takes the sadness out of my mind when it comes to our infertility story. i truly hope that we can help families with Little Loves & can't wait for the shop to open on October 2!! it feels like Little Loves & photography is all i talk about these days, but that's because those things have become a very large portion of my life in recent weeks & i am so, so proud of them.

i say this a lot, but i really mean it. we are so, so, so grateful for the love, support & kindness that we receive from our friends & family. it means more than you know. so thank you from the bottom of our hearts for supporting us in our dreams! we love you all so much!

wednesday letter: grandma's 80th birthday party!

our weekend was JAM PACKED with adventures!!

i went down to my parents' house by way of pine valley utah because i was taking my cousin & his fiance's bridal photos. THEY WERE INCREDIBLE. but after driving four & a half hours, i almost didn't make it into the reservoir because the pay station didn't take cards!! CASH ONLY. i most definitely cried & thought that there was no way we were going to be able to take their photos. luckily, daniel & laci came & they finally let me in!! and the session was incredible! we were working with VERRRRY low light, but it still was just too perfect for words. just wait for that blog post!!

parker stayed home because he had to work until 5 on friday & we wouldn't have made it to the photo location in time if he had come, so he & mack stayed home. they had a blast without me & went to the people park, the dog park & played a tonnnnnn at our house on saturday.

on saturday, my mom, my cute little niece & i went down to las vegas for laci's bridal shower (she's the girl marrying my cousin!!) it was the cutest party & was so fun to be able to celebrate her! after the party, we went to visit my dad who was working a mandatory call-back (aka mandatory overtime) at a station close by. my niece LOVED "dwiving" the ambulance. as soon as my dad plopped her onto the driver's seat she said, "HOOOOOOOOOLD ONNNNN! HERE WE DOOOOOOOOO!" it was so darn cute.
(we also wrapped our legs in spare wrapping paper & opened presents... she didn't love this activity as much as i did...)

i drove back up to provo early sunday morning to make it back in time for church & to help parker teach his primary class. GUYS. FOUR YEAR OLDS ARE HILARIOUS. a few great moments from primary were:
a little boy was talking serious trash during the sharing time game.
another boy started dancing in the middle of class & OH MAN. he had mooooooves.
one of the boys ate his oreo SO SLOOOOOWLY. like insanely slow. like it took him at least 10 minutes to eat ONE oreo.
then a WAY cute moment: one of the boys accidentally got caught in between a door and bumped his ear, he started crying because it hurt & all of the kids in the class rallied around him until he felt better, they decided to say a prayer to help his ear to stop hurting, and then after he had stopped crying one of the little boys went over and sat next to him & asked him if he was feeling better. it seriously was the sweetest thing of all time.

after church, we had GRANDMA'S 80TH BIRTHDAY PARTY!!!!!!! it was such a blast & so well put together. there was a little bit of shuffling things around because it started raining, but it was SO FUN. we took family pictures of everyone while we were there to help grandma update her wall, then grandma's kids played a "who knows grandma best" game. most of the grandkids shared crafts that they had made with grandma or grandma had made them. she opened her special present-- a book with letters from most everyone in the family. we sang happy birthday to her with sparklers!!! and then we just hung out for a bit before everyone went home! grandma lund is the spunkiest lady i know! we had such a blast celebrating her & i loved every second that i was able to follow her around & capture her sweet & unconditional love for her family members. we love you, grandma!!!
